Introduction to n-geneering mentoring

'n-geneering mentoring' is a project committed to working with schools and companies to help young people make realistic decisions about careers in the engineering and manufacturing sector.

In 2001 The Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF) in the West Midlands launched n-geneering mentoring throughout the whole region, to date over 400 mentors and 1500 students have participated in the project. Engineering mentors from the specialities of mechanical, civil, electrical and chemical engineering have worked with groups of students offering their experience and guidance in a range of science & technology based activities. Mentor support can range from problem solving, team working, key skills and group discussion through to company visits.

Exposure to the world of work allows young people to identify the skills and abilities that can lead to success in later life and potentially a position in the prominent engineering and manufacturing industry.
n-geneering mentoring invites both schools and engineering & manufacturing companies to become part of a project that benefits both industry and education, building a bridge for our future generation.
